What is OCPP?
OCPP is the standard language that lets a compatible EV charger communicate with a management system. It gives you a practical alternative to being tied to one hardware provider's software.
Is the OCPP connection really free?
You can start with a free connection and charger monitoring. When you use paid charging, Stripe payment processing and the applicable ChargeStack service fees apply. Review the current plan details as you register.
Do I need a special charger?
You need a charger that supports OCPP 1.6J or OCPP 2.0.1. Check its documentation or configuration screen for OCPP settings before you connect it.
Which countries and currencies are supported?
We currently support Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Germany, Estonia, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Croatia, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, and Slovakia. Available currencies are AUD, NZD, USD, CAD, GBP, and EUR.
What fees apply to paid charging?
Stripe handles payment processing. For paid charging sessions, ChargeStack’s current Stripe-backed platform fee is 7% or the configured fixed minimum, whichever is greater, shown in the session currency. The fee is payable by the driver when a paid session is completed; free charging sessions have no ChargeStack fee.
